Yummy Veggie Soup

 RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Yummy Veggie Soup featuring our Seedy Sister soup mix! 

Soup weather is upon us, and this soup is incredibly simple and extremely healthy! An immune boosting soup containing a ton of fiber from the legumes and barely, antioxidants from the tomatoes and garlic, as well as vitamins and minerals from all the vegetables. A slow cooked soup made with love is bound to make anyone feel good from the inside out.

You can swap out or add any vegetables, herbs, or spices to your liking!

Serves 6


1 Tbsp Seedy Sister Organic Olive Oil

1 Onion – Diced

4 Sticks of Celery – Sliced

2 Large Carrots – Diced

6 Cloves Garlic – Minced (Or 1 tbsp Seedy Sister Organic Garlic Powder)

6-8 Cups of Vegetable Stock

3 Tomatoes - Diced

1 ½ Cups Seedy Sister Organic Soup Mix (we can specially alter our soup mix to your preferences for you – see below)

½ Tsp Seedy Sister Organic Dried Rosemary

½ Tsp Seedy Sister Organic Dried Oregano

¼ Tsp Seedy Sister Organic Black Pepper – Ground

Optional – 1 Tbsp Seedy Sister Wild Kelp

Optional – ½ Tsp Seedy Sister Organic Chilli Flakes

Optional – Fresh Flat Leaf Parsley Bunch – Finely Chopped

Optional – Bag of Baby Spinach

Sprinkle Seedy Sister Nutritional Yeast Flakes on top for serving.


In a large soup pot, on medium heat, add in olive oil, onion, celery, carrots, and garlic. Stir and cook gently until tender – about 5 minutes.

Add the stock, tomatoes, the soup mix, rosemary, oregano, and black pepper and kelp and chilli flakes if using.

Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. Cover and simmer gently for 1 hour.

Check on the soup every 20 minutes or so and stir.

Once the hour is up, taste to check all legumes/barley have cooked through.

Season with nutritional yeast, extra pepper, and a pinch of salt to taste.

If adding parsley and baby spinach, add in now and stir through.

Serve with toasted sourdough bread.
